I have to disagree with you Michael. It is not an underhanded practice and occurs in every other business and not just ours.
Here are a couple of examples of mark ups.
HUD Settlement statement states Title Search $250 when they paid the abstractor $50.
Grocery store, lettuce $1.09 when they paid $.40
Tire Store sold a tire for $99 but bought it at $49.
None of these businesses list what they paid for a product or service, it is called mark up.
