How 'bout assessing? I don't know if that's an option in Mississippi, but here in Michigan -- at least in my neck of the woods -- the county outsources assessing duties. The county assessors are not actual county employees.
It's gotta be better than being a paralegal! (OK, so I've already harped on about that....)
