After I posted on Source of Title, Smitty informed me that I was not very nice.  Can you believe it!!!!

Anyway, he did send me $250 of what he owes me, and promised the rest by 3/1/11.  Of course, I did not run his check through my bank account.  Went to a branch of his bank, and cashed the check. 

I probably would not be so upset with Smitty if it were not so much money.  He has lied to me for over three months.  I would suggest that he pay me the balance of what he owes me by 3/1/11.

Thanks for the offer to help, but I will collect what Smitty owes me.

I also understand from other abstractors that he has a reputation for not paying.  Wish I had known this before I agreed to complete his work.  Live and Learn!

I have never had an abstractor complete work for me that I did not pay them the next day.  When I contract out work, which I don't anymore, (wonder why!), I don't feel it is that abstractor's problem if I ever get paid.  They deserve their money.

Have a nice day!  Again, be careful, not only with lawyers that do not pay, but, unfortunately, with abstractors too.  Check everyone out first.
