Can't tell you about Virginia, but in Massachusetts the main examiner's organization, MITEA, (Mass Independent Title Examiners Assn) sponsored a series of seminars, held around the state, with people from the title insurance industry who went over current & newer law on  all liens, with special emphasis on foreclosures & mechanics liens.    If any other states have anything similar to MITEA then perhaps you could set up some lien seminars for yourselves.  Ours were very well attended.
