I think you are pretty much spot on. I even agree Obama is not the root of these problems too, although he is surely fanning the fires of complacency in personal accountability.

When do you think American's in general gained the cynicism and the "all about me" attitude? I trace it back to the 60s counter culture revolution, but not having experienced it, I can only go off documentaries and history itself.
