We do not typically reduce our fees merely beause a client doesn't want a part of a search. We still do the search according to local title standards and if they choose to ignore any of the information we provide, that is up to them.
Furthermore, we would still have to search the tax records because that is generally how we start our searches. We are usually given a name and address, we have to check the tax records to get the legal description (lot number, range, township, section ,etc) because the property records are not organized by address in the recorder's office. So, other than the time it takes to write down the valuations and amounts due, it wouldn't save any time.
As I have often states, there are a lot of clients out there that have no idea how to do a title search... it seems you have found one of them.
