That wouldn't surprise me.  They were out of New York, right?  There have been a lot of reports of a few individuals in New York who routinely close down, stiff their abstractors, and open under a new name to start over again.  I'm not sure if Contemporary was owned by one of these people, but I'm pretty leery "new" companies popping up in New York.

I'd love to see someone sue these people (again, not certain that Contemporary is one of them)... I think there is enough going on there to pierce the veil of the corporation and hold them personally liable.  And, because they committing fraud, bankruptcy might not even be available to them.

All those who are owed money should start sharing information, and legal fees, and put an end to this.
