I have owned several mixed breed dogs and right now also have a 13 yr. old Lab/Golden mix "Rebel" who I've had since he was a puppy. He wouldn't hurt a fly and is a big old loveable teddy bear!  He's just as much a family member as the other 2 dogs. I just happened to fall in love w/Scotties!  I have no doubt the next time we get a big dog, it will be from a shelter and not a particular breed.
