I didn't say the oil companies are in trouble.  I said their profit margin on retail gasoline operations has been falling.  People have got to get past this "stick it to the corporations" mentality.  Large corporations produce good stuff that makes your life better and more comfortable.  Stop biting the hand that's feeding you.

The oil companies are not in the oil business...they are not in the gasoline business...they are in the money-making business.  If they cannot make enough of a profit selling gasoline, they will simply stop selling it. Then where are you going to buy your gasoline?

I say, screw the caribou...DRILL ALASKA!
