I don't think that the abstractor is necessarily going to remain potentially liable as long as the title policy provides coverage. The abstractor is not a party to the policy, thus it cannot extend the liability of the abstractor. Though it would be possible for an abstractor to remain liable for as long as their client is liable under an issued policy, there are completely different factors to consider.
