I think you are doing the right thing here.  We had our first claim this year and I can't even be mad at an examiner--it was ME! (horror, shame).    Our E & O carrier paid the claim.  My deductible is $2500.  What did I get for my $$???  Not a damn thing.  They got the judgement assigned to them and told me that if they collect anything, they'll reimburse me.  I'm not holding my breath.  You're doing the right thing but it sure is a hard pill to swallow isn't it?
