Thanks for the info.  I am a little confused though.  If there was an easement filed in 1930, does that mean that the surveyor is required to do a 76 year search on the property?  I have never seen a surveyor do a search that thorough to issue a location survey.  And, I would not expect them to.  Around here, location surveys are only slightly more expensive than we charge for a 42 year search.  I can't imagine the surveyor searching back twice as far, plus going to the property to do their survey, and preparing the drawing for as little as they charge.

I guess a lot does depend on the local standards, but that seems to be above and beyond what I would expect.
