I have done work in New London but fortunately it was all document retrieval.  I also refuse to do searches in Bridgeport. 
I have heard all the horror stories about New London's prior town clerk, Clark.  I think he is the only Connecticut Town Clerk to ever have a petition signed by attornies and searchers to demand the firing of a town clerk.
