Oh well we ( abstracting enities, contract examiners ) are a service provider to various title entities, there is much competition, good and bad. We all compete at pricing and the business is most sensitive to cost. I have always advocated for the licensing , bonding and required continual education requirement of all independent contract title examining entities, ( wow, that is a mouth full ) some states have it, it may lead to quality work and an ability to charge reasonably for the services provided, as it may weed out some who feel they can't comply, and leave it in more capable hands of those who can comply.
