Years back in my pre-abstractor days I worked on an oceanographic research ship.  We called it "float testing."  Amazing how much old, out-moded, broke-down equipment failed the float test.  Nowadays, I guess they would call it environmental pollution (even though we never put anything over the side that was poisonous), but that stuff is probably fish houses now. 

btw I would hate to have to clean up monitor debris off a parking lot.
