Most counties in Texas never had chairs.  All counters are standing level - that is why in the old vernacular - title research was called a "stand up" title report!

Harris county decided to amend their computer index - so - instead of the ability to view the index in multiple ways (the easiest for me, a single line display), the ability to sort and do a date range search, - now there is only one way to view (and its ugly), no more sorting and no more date range searching!

This- for  the 3rd largest county in the country!
