I believe E and O insurance is a must for your client's and your piece of mind. You didn't say how long you had been abstracting. This will help determine how much your E and O insurance will be or if you can get it at all. If you haven't done title searching for very long you may want to get back with another title company before taking the leap of starting your own business. There are costs involved before you receive your first check. Computer, fax machine, cell phone, insurance, gas, paper and copy costs, etc... You will need to check with your state to see if you are required to be licensed in PA. It will not be something you can jump into without planning.
