Hiring Employees - Jay Duncan

Hey Donna,

get with your accountant or CPA and he/she will help you in this area. If you are not already, you will either want to form a S corporation or an LLC. Your CPA will be able to advise you on what would work best for you. You'll then need to get an EIN (employer identification number) which is the businesses SSN, you'll get one for your state if they require it and one for federal unemployement and state unemployement. Again you CPA should be able to help you in these areas. We use Quickbooks for our accounting, it will calculate your payroll taxes and responsibilities. There are also payroll services companies that will do your payroll for you, including your quarterly filings. I know this is alot of info to digest. Give me a call at 314-842-8329 if you have any other questions. Good luck, Jay
